Great Barr

Beacon Heights is set in idyllic countryside, five miles north of Birmingham.

It has spectacular views over open fields and fishing lakes.

There is bus stop at the park entrance and it is only a short distance to local shops and amenities.

Visiting Beacon Heights you would be surprised to find that you're only five miles from Birmingham, for the Park is set in wonderful open countryside - a perfect peaceful setting. Directly opposite the Park is the beautiful Forest of Mercia, a community forest that is part of the country's largest environmental improvement programme. There are two long "Forest Ways" to explore and many more shorter walks.

The nearby towns of Great Barr and Streetly offer all that you would expect: a golf course, shops, supermarkets and many fine bars and restaurants. The area is known for its many parks, in particular Sandwell Valley Country Park. It has acres of woodland and a lake with boats to hire. Or why not visit its historic farm which houses many rare breeds of animal?

For those who want to travel a little further afield, Birmingham has everything that you would expect from a major city. The city centre is being completely redeveloped. There, you'll not only find all the major retailers, but cinemas, trendy bars and stylish restaurants.

Shakespeare County and the Cotswolds are also within easy reach. Or why not spend a day visiting mediaeval Warwick Castle?

Great Barr is well placed for national travel, being close to both the M6 and the M5. Birmingham Airport is not far away and the train station at Butlers Lane links to Birmingham and to the rest of the UK.
